Marketing Consulting (Nov 2014 – Jan 2015)
I was introduced to the team at Derby Jackpot from a former school mate of one of the founders. Derby Jackpot is a legal online and mobile portal that allows consumers the ability to gamble on horses effortlessly. We were tasked with a two month project to help expand their Derby Bars brand, which was a more experiential way of engaging new consumers.
The goal was to get local bars on board with running a live 24/hour feed of DerbyJackpot results, which can be viewed here https://derbyjackpot.com/live. Then once bars were on board it was time to activate users. This was done through experiential marketing, similar to the work I had done at Tagkast.
I trained and hired about 5 brand ambassadors who would visit the bars with the live feed and product patrons with $5 in free bets. They would go at busy times, dress cute, and engage as many people as possible. Part of my tasks included creating the marketing material used in closing locations and attracting new customers.
