Marketing Consultant (Sept 2015 – Nov 2015)
About:
As an avid Film lover I was pleased to help the 51st Chicago International Film Festival in updating and managing their website and other digital mediums. Â The Chicago Film Festival is a world renown Film Festival hosting hundreds of filmmakers from around the world in an effort to showcase up and coming talent along with never before seen film screenings. Â My work for the festival included updating their back-end, re-organizing their webpage structure, creating an interactive schedule. Â In addition I helped in managing social media, email marketing campaigns, and the creation of Android and iPhone apps. Â This worked helped increase year over year online ticket sales by 30% along with an increase of web traffic by 40%. Â I continue to consult for the festival outside of the season and look forward to continuing to enhance their online experience. Â Below are some specific highlights of my work.
SEO:
By adding a few nifty WordPress plugins, we made the website very Google compatible, helping boost organic traffic. Â The addition of other plugins also made pulling specific pages and events easier, and now autopopulate in the Google itself.
Live Schedule:
One of the largest obstacles the fest had in the past was the ability to clearly update festival information online. Â I was able to solve this with the incorporation of EventOn, an easy to use WordPress plugin created specifically for updating event contact. Â This schedule can still be see here. New Home Page:
Another en devour I tackled was the redesign of the new page. Â Because it is the most important page on any website, I needed to create a way where all the festival’s relevant information could be found. Â In addition strong call to actions had to be implemented.
