eCommerce & Marketing Associate (January 2012 – June 2012)
About:
When I was first presented with the opportunity to work with the Chicago Bears, I was extremely thrilled. Â Being a fan for some time now, and recently seeing the team make it all the way to the Super Bowl, I thought it would be fun to work for an organization I believed in, and all my friends thought was cool. Â Not to mention the role had me on-site at Soldier Field every day. Â It’s pretty sweet pulling into the same parking lot as the players.
My main objective while working with the Chicago Bears Retail Division was to optimize the online selling process. Â This work was completed in a variety of ways, including by managing website content, designing new graphic material, managing the operations process, shipping, social media management, digital marketing, affiliate marketing, and email marketing.
Responsibilities:
Content Management, Email Marketing, Social Media Management, eCommerce.
Content Management:
Part of my job was managing the content on the store website. This primarily applied to apparel, and the most work took place when either a player was traded or just drafted. I had to maintain the proper images for the proper items, along with making sure that the back-end infrastructure was connected to our inventory database.
Email Marketing:
The most effective means of marketing came from email marketing. It was my job to construct and design emails that were then sent out to the Chicago Bears fan database, 2-3 times a week during the season. We would promote new products, along with special flash sales for products we wanted to move.
